Day 23
Day 23
September 30, 2015
Today was an amazing day of blessing and encouragement for Marilyn and me. We started the day at Compassion chapel services. Several of our church family flew out to Colorado Springs to be with us. Scott Limerick, Veresa Myers, Greg Frady and Emily Hollingsworth joined the worship team. Alyse Hollingsworth flew out to be with us (and Emily). It was like having family all around us. We are so very grateful to have been given the opportunity to share our story with Compassion but we received an even greater blessing being just being with the very gifted and passionate Compassion team. The work they do is truly remarkable and we were honored and humbled to be with them.
After a great tour of Compassion headquarters, we enjoyed lunch and then I was joined by about 13 cyclists from Compassion. What an amazing afternoon of cycling and fellowship with these men of faith. We rode the 68 miles to Pueblo, had a record 15 flat tires collectively and enjoyed pizza once we got to Pueblo. A special thanks to Harley for leading the way the last 20 miles allowing us to outrun (almost) the rain storm.
This day was certainly a highlight of our trip so far. Tomorrow is a long, flat ride and I am praying for either no wind or a tail wind.
